The Minnesota Association for Environmental Education (MAEE) is hosting two FREE EE Best Practices workshops by Bora Simmons, director of NAAEE's National Project for Excellence, March 19 in Duluth.
Workshop #1: Professional Development
Date: Tuesday, March 19th, 2024
Time: 2:00pm - 4:00pm
Location: Great Lakes Aquarium, Duluth, MN
Details: Join us for a highly interactive workshop focusing on a set of guidelines for the basic knowledge and abilities educators need to provide high quality environmental education. The guidelines are designed for all environmental educators including formal teachers, non-formal environmental educators, professors, and nature preschool teachers, as well as those who deliver environmental education programs as only a part of their job. Each participant at the workshop will receive a copy of the Professional Development of Environmental Educators: Guidelines for Excellence workbook.
Workshop #2: Environmental Education Programs
Date: Tuesday, March 19th, 2024
Time: 5:30pm - 7:30pm
Location: Lake Superior Zoo, Duluth, MN
Details: Join us for a highly interactive workshop focusing on a set of guidelines for developing and administering high-quality environmental education programs. These recommendations provide a tool that can be used to ensure a firm foundation for new programs or to inform improvements in existing ones. The overall goal of these guidelines is to facilitate a superior educational process leading to the social and environmental quality that people desire. Each participant at the workshop will receive a copy of the Environmental Education Programs: Guidelines for Excellence workbook.
Cost: FREE
Suggested donation: $20 - 30 per workshop (optional)
