Friday, Feb. 7, 2020
Registration for the February 7 Minnesota Earth Science Teachers' Association (MESTA) Conference is closed, as we have reached capacity. There will be no walk in registrations.
Thanks to everyone that registered for the conference. If you missed out on 2020, keep watching for information on the 2021 conference.
Thanks
Kent Gordon
MESTA Past President
KARE 11-TV meteorologist and conservationist Sven Sundgaard will be the keynote speaker on “Climate Change by the Numbers”.
Friday’s concurrent sessions include two incredible Earth science teachers: Mary Colson and Ken Fiscus. Mary is a MN science standards co-chair, and she will explore ways to meet the new state science standards and benchmarks. Ken will share creative ways to teach moon phases and probe student understanding. Other concurrent sessions feature Dr. George Hudak of NRRI on engineering sustainable mineral resources and Dr. Philip Schoeneberger of USDA-NRCS on Soil Hydrology.
Breakfast, lunch, door prizes, and classroom resources are included with your registration. Optional Hamline graduate credit is available.
Thursday’s pre-conference evening features the Como Planetarium and an optional dinner and networking at Granite City Food and Brewery.
Take this opportunity to connect and reconnect with your colleagues from across the state and enjoy the day learning with other Earth science enthusiasts.
