Scholarship Opportunity! Generation Nano: Superheroes Inspired by Science! – Open to 6-12th graders.
Share this fun video with your students to show them why their superhero-creating-skills are needed!
There’s still time to inspire your students with a scholarship opportunity over the holiday break! The National Science Foundation and the National Nanotechnology Initiative are excited to host Generation Nano: Superheroes Inspired by Science. We’re challenging 6-12 grade students to create or empower a unique superhero using science and engineering. Students then tell their hero’s story – how they use science to solve crimes and meet today’s challenges –in a short comic or video. Students can work individually or in teams of two to three. Submissions are due Jan. 8, 2018.
Students compete for a chance to win cash prizes and a trip to Washington, D.C. to attend the 2018 USA Science & Engineering Festival to present the scientific story of their original superhero. Teachers who encourage the first-place teams also win an honorarium.
See nsf.gov/GenNano for more information, and follow us at #GenNano. Questions: email gennano@nsf.gov.
