Help recognize outstanding Earth Science educators with the National Association of Geoscience Teachers (NAGT) Outstanding Earth Science Teacher (OEST) Award. This award recognizes exceptional K-12 educators who make significant contributions to Earth science education.
Any teacher who covers a significant amount of Earth science content with their students is eligible, even if Earth science is not their primary subject. Informal educators who teach Earth science are also encouraged to be nominated. Each year, eight regional winners are selected, with additional recognition possible at the state/provincial level.
Nominations are open until March 1, and anyone can submit a nomination—including administrators, colleagues, or even the educators themselves. The process is straightforward, requiring basic nominee information and a short write-up about their teaching approach, creativity, and impact. Supporting documents can also be included to strengthen the nomination.
More details and the nomination form can be found on the NAGT OEST Award Page.
