As you prepare your students for the MCA, don't miss these resources that were highlighted at this year's MnCOSE conference.
1. MCA Content Resources
The resources below support educators in understanding how the academic standards are assessed on the MCA in each subject domain (math, reading, and science).
The Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment (MCA), is a criterion-referenced assessment, which means it measures a snapshot of learning of the Minnesota K-12 Academic Standards (the criteria). The MCA is used to evaluate equitable implementation of the standards in schools and districts across the state.
2. Released MCA Questions
Explore test questions from past exams
The Minnesota Questions Tool (MQT) contains released test questions (items) from past MCA tests, as well as links to data about each item. Educators can use these test questions to better understand how the MCA is aligned to the Minnesota K–12 Academic Standards, and how the items are written to reflect the rigor and complexity of the standards. The released content, data tables, and rationales can be used to explore examples of questions that evaluate the knowledge and skills expected in the standards.
