With less than one month to go until applications close for the 15th year of the annual Samsung Solve for Tomorrow contest, we want to encourage you and your students to apply to our nationwide STEM contest open to public school students in grades 6-12!

Our mission is to empower students to harness the power of STEM to address issues in their community, and make STEM accessible to all.  As we approach the October 24th application deadline, now is a great time to give yourself the chance to win a share of $2 million in Samsung technology and supplies for your classroom. In fact, simply by applying, you have a great chance to be one of 5 State Finalists, all of which are guaranteed at least $2,500 in prizes.

In addition to these great prizes, we are also celebrating teachers by randomly awarding 15 applications with a $150 Donors Choose gift card…just for applying!

On top of some great prizes, it is important to know that at the core of our program, Samsung Solve for Tomorrow is dedicated to ensuring that both students and teachers take a lot of positives out of this unique experience. But don’t just take our word for it. Hear it first hand from a recent State Winner teacher, Sara Tezel from Community High School in Grand Forks, North Dakota:

  • “One goal of teachers is to get students to see the real-world application of their efforts. Competing in the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow challenge allowed my students to take their learning beyond the classroom and when we received the news that they were chosen as the state winner for North Dakota, it felt like the kind of moment you wish you could always orchestrate for your students. The excitement of my students from beginning to end was palpable and I loved watching students come alive in a way that I hadn’t seen in our traditional curriculum.”

Over the last 14 years of the Solve for Tomorrow competition, students have identified significant societal and environmental challenges, designing STEM-based solutions to address food waste, urban decay, social inequality, mental health, climate change, and so much more. We can’t wait to see what you and your students come up with!
