SCIENCE TEACHER

Arete is looking for an iterim, full or part time science teacher.

Job Title: Interim Science Teacher 2024-2025
Job Type: Full-time
Start date ASAP, Contract ends June 6th, 2025 with option to renew for future school years.

Arete Academy is a school for bright students who learn differently. Most of our students are gifted or have high ability and have a learning difference such as ADHD, anxiety, dyslexia, dysgraphia, and/or dyscalculia. We strive to highlight individual strengths and support learning needs so that students may reach their potential.

Job Description
Arete Academy is seeking a Science teacher for bright students with learning differences. Arete classes are small with no more than 10 students. The teacher applicant should have strong relationship-building skills in their classroom. Creativity and flexibility are strongly valued.
Arete is a collaborative environment and staff work together to meet the needs of the students and school. Teaching license is preferred, we are open to a variety of categories in the STEM and Science middle school or high school areas.


Job Duties
Uphold the school mission and ensure that classroom practices align with the school mission of serving twice-exceptional students.
Teach two sections of individualized High School Science and one section of individualized Middle School science.
Curriculum development in your subject area.
Support school-wide enrichment classes and afternoon independent learning time.
Communicate frequently and effectively with parents, staff, and leadership team members.
Prepare and modify curriculum to meet individual student needs.
Attend and participate in weekly afternoon staff meetings.
Other duties as assigned by the leadership team periodically throughout the year.

Schedule
8:15am - 3:30pm Monday - Friday.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Qualifications
Teaching or education-related experience
Professional degree related to subject taught
Experience with special education, ADHD, anxiety, learning disabilities, and/or gifted students preferred

Salary: 45K-60K plus benefits (final salary determined by experience and qualifications)
