I am pleased to share with you the opportunity to receive a free copy of the book, Wildfire: The Culture, Science, and Future of Fire . This resource is made possible through a gift from the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community, Understand Native Minnesota campaign. We are grateful for their purchase of copies of this book and approaching MnSTA as an organization to receive this book. We hope this book will help you gain background knowledge about the role of fires in an ecosystem and the way Indigenous communities use fire. To request your free copy, please complete this form; the book will be mailed to you at the address you provide. In addition to providing members a copy of the book, the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community is buying and donating enough copies of this book to give away classroom sets of this book to teachers. The first opportunity to obtain classroom sets will be at our fall conference on science education (MNCOSE). This annual conference connecting science educators from across the state is scheduled for November 1st and 2nd in St. Cloud.
