Call for Student Poster Presentation!
River Action is calling for poster presentations in two categories; scientific research and visual arts to be exhibited at the 17th Annual Upper Mississippi River Conference, Oct. 18-19, 2023, at Rock Island Holiday Inn, Rock Island, IL 61201. This is open to current high school and college students (undergraduate and graduate).
This conference brings together planners, city, regional and state officials, engineers, river enthusiasts and advocacy groups, environmentalist, academic leaders, farming/agricultural groups, and state, and civilian federal government employees.
Now is your chance to share your success stories and projects around America’s greatest river and the conferences main topics:
- Healthy Watershed
- Community Resiliency / Environmental Justice
- Water Quality
- Flooding / Flood Management
- Climate Change
- Building Riverfront Community
- Nutrient Management and the River
Those selected will not need to present their poster formally but will have the opportunity to display and discuss it as part of a poster exhibition on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2023, at 4:00pm (poster presenters should be there at 3:30pm). Applicants will be notified by email whether the abstract has been accepted by October 6th 2023, so please provide an active email address with your submission.
