Workshop #1 - Wildfire, Drought, and the Future of Forests - June 7-8, 11-3 pm each day
MS/HS Life Science storyline unit focused on shifting patterns of post-fire succession in a warmer/drier world.
Workshop #2 - A Changing Arctic Ecosystem - July 12-13, 11-3 pm each day
MS/HS Life Science Life Science storyline unit in which students trace the flow of carbon through the Arctic food web to predict how the observed decline in sea ice might impact Arctic organisms large (polar bears) and small (sea ice algae).
Workshop #3 - Data Puzzles
Data Puzzles are 2-3 day lessons that combine classroom-friendly datasets with Ambitious Science Teaching instructional practices to help students make sense of science phenomena. These two Data Puzzle workshops will be co-facilitated by my (the lead developer) and the scientist who is featured in the resource.
