FREE MAGE SLINGSHOT SATURDAY WORKSHOP
Join the Minnesota Alliance for Geographic Education (MAGE) on Saturday, April 15th for a free, one-day "Slingshot Saturday" workshop for K-12 educators at Dodge Nature Center in West St. Paul, MN. This workshop will provide tools and tips for engaging your learners in the 2023-2024 Slingshot Challenge. Stipend, CEUs, and lunch are included. Register here: https://tinyurl.com/slingshotsaturday
National Geographic Society has launched a new, global video challenge called the Slingshot Challenge. Student participants (ages 13-18) create a one-minute video outlining an innovative solution to an environmental issue they are passionate about. Topics include cleaning our air, reviving our oceans, protecting and restoring nature, building a waste-free world, and fixing our climate. Winners receive cash prizes and an invitation to Washington DC for the National Geographic Explorers Festival.
Slingshot Saturday workshop participants will explore options for creating short videos with students and be connected to local classroom resources to help build their background knowledge, lessons, and activities related to Slingshot Challenge themes.
