Rachel Humphrey’s Bio:

Originally from New York, but having lived in CO for a decade, my adventures in education have now brought me to Minnesota (where I have re-learned just how cold winters can truly be!)  I am an Assistant Professor of Meteorology and Science Education as well as the Planetarium Director at St. Cloud State University.  In addition to the courses I teach and the severe-weather fieldwork I conduct, I am an avid science communicator, engaged in educational outreach with K-12 and the general public locally through in-person presentations and hands-on activities/demonstrations/shows, and nationally through programs such as "Skype a Scientist."   I see my role as a facilitator of information sharing in ways that allow learners of all ages to tap into and expand their love of science.  I also see myself as someone who is an advocate for welcoming all into the "Science sandbox."  There's room for everyone to grow and play here!
