The NSTA Board of Directors voted in February to change the name of the organization from the National Science Teachers Association to the National Science Teaching Association

According to NSTA, "This is a significant change that represents a major shift in our vision to better connect with a science teaching community that has grown to include many who do not carry the formal title of 'teacher'. At the end of the day, we want to be an organization for all who share our mission."
The proposal now goes to the NSTA membership for a vote.
