Volunteers needed for State Science & Engineering Fair

by , posted on 8:14 AM, March 9, 2017
Can you help us find a few more judges and volunteers for the 2017 State Science & Engineering Fair/North Central Regional JSHS?

March 25-27, 2017
LOCATION: Minneapolis Marriott City Center
30 South 7th Street, Minneapolis

You join colleagues from Seagate, 3M, EcoLab, Medtronic, Beckman Coulter, Diasorin, General Mills and many more local STEM companies who generously donate time to help us create an inspiring, academically rigorous competition that showcases Minnesota's best and brightest students in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Many of our young scientists spend hundreds of hours researching their projects and papers to prepare for this event.

We still need 20 project judges on Sunday and 50 volunteers to help with a wide range of needs throughout the weekend.

Our greatest remaining need

A volunteer opportunity that is open to anyone: We need 20 - 25 volunteers to help with display and safety.

Volunteers have the opportunity to engage with the participants and their projects while checking to make sure that they are following display and safety regulations. The shift is on Saturday, March 25th from 8am to 2:30pm(If you are interested in this volunteer position, please write D & S in the notes section when registering.)

Who can be a general volunteer?

There are fun, non-judging volunteer opportunities throughout the weekend. Shifts range from 3 to 8 hours and cover a wide range of needs at the competition. Examples include: photography, helping in the front office and with registration, entering data, monitoring our student dance, and many more opportunities that help make this an exhilarating weekend for all.
