Free PLT Climate Change Workshop for Grade 7-12 TeachersDate: 04/15/2017 Time: 9 AM to 12 PM Location: McColl Pond Environmental Learning Center, Savage Description: Designed for grade 7-12 teachers, this workshop introduces the new Project Learning Tree (PLT) secondary module on forests and climate change. Module covers lessons on the history of climate science, how climate change affects our forests and ecosystems, how people are working to manage and adapt forests, carbon sequestration, assessing life cycles of forest products, and creating solutions for change. Engaging, hands-on PLT activities use trees and natural resources to engage students in science, math, English language arts, and social studies. Some activities may be outdoors, so dress for the weather. Participants get the PLT SE Forests and Climate Change secondary module, and 3 CEUs.
